Asia

The Americas

  • Ecuador: Gold fever causing unrest in the heart of the Amazon rainforest; for the indigenous peoples of Ecuador’s Napo province, the defense of Amazonian territory has become a risk to life. Rainforest Rescue reports.

Africa

  • Ecological Justice and Resilience: Nigerian activists and scholars examine the intersections of capitalism, climate justice, and indigenous, community-based alternatives while unpacking the systemic drivers of ecological degradation.

Europe

  • The EU Strategic Projects, as part of their Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA), have been announced. YLNM ally Catapa have produced some excellent resources to debunk the mining myth that ‘Europe needs to mine critical raw materials to stay relevant’

  • Ireland: Save Our Sperrins welcomes the voice of Salmon, wishing to be heard in the discussion on the transboundary consultation on the impacts of toxic goldmining. Nature knows no borders!
