STOP MINING DEVASTATION IN BROOKE’S POINT, PALAWAN, THE PHILIPPINES

DEMAND ACTION NOW!
Thematic Social Forum on Mining and Extractivism to be held 16-20 October 2023 in Semarang, Indonesia

Global demand for nickel is skyrocketing, and mining companies are scrambling to carve up untouched landscapes on Palawan Man & Biosphere Reserve, brazenly pushing ahead even in the face of an officially approved mining‑moratorium ordinance. The livelihoods of indigenous communities, farmers, and fisherfolk are being pushed to the brink. What’s at stake isn’t just land; it’s culture, food security, and the living memory of generations.

We are calling on you to stand once again with the Indigenous peoples of Palawan (in the Philippines).

These two press releases lay bare just how grave the situation has become.
